Introducing Virtual Reality in Nursing Education Student Nurse Prep Program!
In our Student Nurse Prep Program, aspiring Black nurses experience the reality of nursing through immersive virtual environments, learning basic nursing skills. This transformative experience instills confidence in students, even those who doubted their ability to become a nurse, as they envision themselves thriving in a nursing career.
BPOW Academy acknowledges the disparities faced by Black individuals diagnosed with cancer and the lack of access to adequate support and care. In response, our program has partnered with nonprofit organizations to provide essential support and caregiving services for people living with cancer. As part of this initiative, students enrolled in our Student Nurse Prep Program will receive specialized training, internship, and job opportunities to provide crucial support for individuals facing cancer.
Program Features
1. Comprehensive Nursing Education:
Our Black Student Nurse Preparation Program provides a comprehensive introduction to the nursing profession, preparing Black students for the challenges and opportunities within the healthcare landscape.
2. Guidance and Prep for Nursing Programs:
We offer guidance and support for Black students aspiring to enter nursing programs, addressing the unique challenges and expectations in the admissions process.
3. Immersive Skills Development:
Students receive training in caregiving skills, including caring for patients diagnosed with cancer, in home environments. Our immersive approach utilizes simulation and virtual reality to enhance the learning experience and prepare students for practical caregiving challenges.
4. Mentorship and Paid Internships:
Black students are provided with mentorship and opportunities for paid internships, matching them as caregivers for cancer patients in need of essential care and support. The internship program is designed to offer raises as students progress and move towards course completions in nursing programs, recognizing their efforts and commitment. As students are admitted to nursing programs and progress towards becoming a nurse and a registered nurse, they will receive increased merits and pay in recognition of their achievements.
